I have a little nightly routine of following (OK stalking) lots of beauty bloggers, make up artists and hair stylists from all over the world. I follow them via You Tube, Instagram and Snap Chat and they had all mentioned this face mask a few times so I decided to take a look at their website.
All the TruSelf Organics products are exactly that…….organic, which to me is always a huge bonus. I don’t need to tell you how important it is to look after your skin and apply the best products you can.
I only planned on buying the detoxifying mask, but as always I couldn’t resits the ocean mineral moisturiser (I’m now regretting not buying the clear skin foaming cleanser…..this is being added to my ‘shopping list’). As soon as I placed the order I was already getting excited for my little parcel of joy to arrive from America.
When it arrived I was impressed with the packaging, it is amazing how some cut up paper can give you such a good impression…
There was only one thing for it – a face mask and chick flick night!!! (It was Bridget Jones’s Diary in case you were wondering, I am counting down to the third being released!)
I washed and gently dried my face, before mixing the mask. It is really easy and straight forward, equal parts of the mask and solution. I used the middle size measure and this was the perfect amount for me.
I started off using the spatula to apply it but my impatience got the better of me and I applied most of it with my fingers!!!!
Within a few seconds of applying the mask I could feel my skin tingling – which I liked! It was like you could feel it working and as it dried (it dried harder than any face mask I have previously used) it almost felt like I could feel the mask detoxifying my face from the inside out. It was a little bit of an odd feeling……the best way I could describe it was that it felt like it was tickling. The instructions say to leave the mask on for 10 – 30 minutes, but for the first use only 10 minutes and build up the time over uses……..So of course I left it on for the full 30 minutes (little bit of a rebellious moment). When I washed it off with warm water and a flannel my skin did feel a tiny bit more sensitive than usual but after I applied the moisturiser it calmed right down and my skin felt amazing!! If you have sensitive skin I would recommend you start with the 10 minutes, I am very lucky my skin puts up with whatever I throw at it!
I really think this is going to become a regular in my skin care routine and, if like me, you like products you can feel working and that you have got your money’s worth then I would highly recommend them.
I’m sorry, I had every intention of getting a before photo of myself with no make up on to compare the ‘before’ and ‘after’ but I was far too excited to get it mixed up (it did fizz up as well which I found exciting). So I only have the ‘after’ and please ignore my hair – usual night time, thrown up in a bobble hairstyle 🙂
If you try this product then please let me know your thoughts!
